DKW Club of Great Britain was founded in 1951.
In August of that year Denys Middleton placed adverts in autocar and motor magazine to see if there were any other British owners of pre-war twin cylinder DKWs which were then still in active use. The objectives of the club that Denys formed all those years ago are still at the heart of the club today. These are to help owners with spare parts and technical advice so as to keep as many examples of DKW vehicles as possible in good running order, to encourage the restoration of vehicles, and to hold regular meetings where the owners of DKW vehicles can meet each other and to promote the social activities of the club. On the 17th of October 1951 the first Deek day as they are now known was held at The Chequers public house next to Whipsnade Zoo, making this the oldest DKW owners club in the world.
We love discussing all things Deek!
